I enjoy working in a variety of mediums but carving and creating linoprints has become an all-consuming artistic practice for me with my subject matter a celebration of nature, animals, mythology and daily observations. I love the bold graphic nature inherent in linoprint that lends itself to many applications.
I enjoy every aspect of the process from pondering ideas, transferring those ideas to paper and refining and transferring to lino. I love the carving process using tools that have long been around and the mindfulness that comes with the practice and finding solutions to challenges that arise. There is a magic that comes with a print that you are never
fully aware of until the final stage of printing where you get to reveal your idea and the lino also reveals its own. I really enjoy the surprise element that makes a piece feel more like a collaboration.
